Well, what's new in my life since the last time I wrote?

I got my first school report of the year 2010-2011. 2 A's and 2 B's. Momma says it very good so I am proud of that! Hockey is back. I love seeing Champion, my very best friend at hockey games. I love him so much!

I had a hard time with sleep, but since last week, I am okay. Momma didn't find the reason but now that everything is fine, she's not searching anymore for a reason. I got my heel fractured and been in a cast for 5 weeks. It was very hard too! But, mommy found cool activities to do even if I had a cast. We went feeding birds, hockey games, shopping, walk in the woods and others.

Last week end, it was Halloween. I was on party all week end with my friend Megan. It was really fun. My costume was Woody the Cowboy of toy story. I liked it!


Alors, quoi de neuf depuis la dernière fois?!

J'ai eu mon premier bulletin scolaire de l'année 2010-2011. Résultat? 2 A et 2 B. Maman est très contente de ca. Aussi, le hockey est recommencé, donc je vois mon grand ami Champion à tous les matchs! Il vient me rendre visite et j'adore lui faire des gros câlins! Je l'aime énormément!

Dernièrement, j'avais beaucoup de problèmes de sommeil. Maman s'est demandé pourquoi, mais plusieurs raisons pouvaient être réalistes. J'avais le talon fracturé, et j'ai porté un plâtre pendant une période de 5 semaines. Ce n'était pas super plaisant, mais maman et Patrick ont trouvé des activités super pour ne pas que je m'ennuie! Nous sommes allés nourrir des oiseaux, allé aux matchs de hockey, magasiner, marcher dans les bois, et pleins d'autres choses!

La fin de semaine dernière, c'était Halloween. Pour l'occasion, Megan est venue passer le week end avec nous. Samedi, nous sommes allés en après midi à la fête de Maizerets. En soirée, nous sommes allés à l'Aquarium de Québec, pour le Festi-Lumière d'Halloween, avec des trajets dans le noir, et des zombies cachés dans les bois. J'ai ri un bon coup avec tous ces sursauts! Et de revoir mes amis les poissons!! Dimanche, nous sommes allés dans une kermesse et j'ai gagné des tonnes de bonbons. En soirée nous sommes allé à la récolte de bonbons en faisant du porte à porte. Miam!!! C'est délicieux!

Le nouveau DVD de mon ami Arthur l'Aventurier: l'Aventure de Noël est maintenant disponible dans tous les bons magasins. Je l'adore!!! Et j'adore aussi quand je reviens de l'école, car maman me le fait jouer dans le téléviseur! Les images sont tellement magnifiques, et les chansons, comme toujours, entraînantes!!

Lundi prochain, je retourne faire un moule de mes pieds, pour de nouvelles orthèses. Depuis ma fracture au talon, ma cheville n'est plus très solide. Et j'ai grandi des pieds, alors de nouvelles orthèses s'imposent! Et jeudi, je recevrai mon vaccin pour l'influenza à l'école. Maman espère que je ne réagirai pas comme l'an dernier, avec de la grosse fièvre et des convulsions.

Le 14 novembre, je vais rendre visite à mon amie Atchoum le Clown, qui sera de la partie pour l'arrivée du Père Noël au centre commercial Laurier. Elle me réservera une place de choix près de la scène!! J'ai bien hâte, après plus d'un an sans la voir! Maman dit qu'elle a bien hâte de voir ma réaction! Et aussi j'ai très hâte de revoir le Père Noël!

Ce week end, nous recevons de la belle visite, Camille et sa famille viennent nous voir samedi et dimanche matin! Encore des amies à la maison, c'est vraiment super!

Today, mom received an email from a mom living with a special needs little girl. Here's the email:

Hi there,

I found your blog while searching for mom (or dad) blogs that deal with raising children with special needs. I have a child with special needs . . .she is 2, she is nonverbal, she can't walk or stand without help, she loves her dog, she's sneaky and hilarious :) I have a small blog where I talk about things with her, things with my family, etc.

A month ago I published my take on "Welcome to Holland" (the traditional poem given to parents of children who are "different")---called "Amsterdam International". I wrote it because I think "Welcome to Holland" is kind of lacking (for many parents). It presents a nice little everything-will-be-just-fine-look!-there-are-windmills type of view, and kind of dismisses (by omission) the terrible turmoil that some parents go through as they process that their child (and life) will always be "different" (especially during the newly diagnosed period).

I thought you might be interested in it, as may others in the different communities/messages boards/ etc that you may frequent. I'm just trying to put it out there, with the hopes that some parents will come across it as they are coming to terms with things, and they might find comfort in knowing that their thoughts are normal and they're not alone. Please feel free to pass it on, blog about it (whether you like it or don't), email it, share it on Facebook, anything that might help it find people who will be comforted by it.
